New Hope Ministries provides two basic services to the clients we serve – emergency crisis assistance and children & youth programs.
Service is available to eligible individuals regardless of race, age, gender or religious affiliation.
Who do we help?
New Hope emergency crisis assistance clients are low-income families and individuals from our local communities of Dillsburg,
Dover and Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, who live at or below 150% of federal poverty guidelines. New Hope clients include the
"working poor", senior citizens on fixed incomes, disabled adults, and families thrown into crisis due to job loss, illness,
spousal abandonment or other crises. Children & Youth Program participants are the children of our crisis client families and their peers.
How do we help?
New Hope provides crisis clients with "basic needs" assistance such as food, rent/mortgage assistance to prevent homelessness, utility assistance to
prevent termination of service, transportation and medical assistance. In addition, we work with a broad network of partners to provide screening and
referral services to alternate assistance providers. More about Emergency/Crisis Services.
Children and youth programs provide year-round structured "club" programs which incorporate wholesome recreation, instruction and mentoring to help "at-risk"
kids develop character, make healthy lifestyle choices and eventually break the generational cycle of poverty. More about Children & Youth Ministries.
Why we help?
New Hope's mission is to show the love and hope found in Christ by meeting human needs. New Hope is the only local provider of organized comprehensive
needs assistance, and for many of our clients, New Hope is the last resort. Most New Hope clients live in rural areas and have limited transportation
resources, which prevents access to alternate assistance providers. |
