Founded in 1983, New Hope Ministries, Inc. is a Christian social service agency with assistance centers in the Greater Harrisburg and York communities of Dillsburg, Dover and Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. From these centers, New Hope provides emergency crisis assistance, food pantries, counseling, and referral services to local low-income families and individuals. In addition to “basic needs” assistance, we provide ongoing support and guidance to enable clients to achieve long-term stability and self-sufficiency. Assistance is provided to over 5,300 individuals from an estimated 2,000 different families each year.
In addition, New Hope provides children and youth programs for approximately 450 socially and financially disadvantaged young people each year. Through structured club programs and special activities, New Hope strives to provide a safe, nurturing environment for "at-risk" youth and to help these young people break the cycle of poverty and dependency.
Registered as a 501(c) (3) charitable organization, New Hope Ministries is a non-denominational, faith-based ministry. Service is provided to eligible, low-income families and individuals without regard to race, gender, age or religious affiliation. For more information about New Hope programs, see "How We Help."
