Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. Proverbs 22:6
About 5,300 children – from birth through age eighteen – are in families that receive help at New Hope. Programs like our food pantries, weekend “backpack” food for students, after school and summer programs, back to school family events, and Christmas gift programs provide basic needs, as well as the added support and encouragement families with children can really use during a difficult time of life.
We know that children raised in poverty have a much higher likelihood of becoming the next generation to live in poverty. To help alleviate this generational transfer, New Hope Ministries is teaching families how to make healthy food choices in our food pantries, providing the unemployed and underemployed with job training and education, and encouraging parents to share the basic budgeting skills they learn at New Hope with their children. And our after school and summer youth programs are helping at-risk kids succeed in their school studies and in everyday situations through educational activities and life-skills support.
As we enter the season of Lent, reflecting upon Jesus’ teachings and His resurrection, would you consider renewing your support of New Hope Ministries with a charitable gift? Your tax-deductible donation will support the 5,300 children and their families we help every year at New Hope. Your support will change their lives.
With great thanks,
