Dover Center Expansion

Effective January 5, 2015, the Dover Area Food Bank will transfer operation of its food bank program to New Hope Ministries, its current service partner and a United Way Partner Agency with 32 years’ experience in building stronger, more stable communities by providing a safety net for people facing hunger, homelessness, and financial crisis. Under New Hope Ministries, food bank operations will continue to serve the community in its current location at 1836 Industrial Court in Dover.

“We are confident this change will provide even greater care to the Dover community by allowing New Hope Ministries to focus on, strengthen and grow the services that are vital to many residents,” commented Eric Saunders, Executive Director of New Hope Ministries. “New Hope has a proven track record in operating, funding and facilitating community-wide collaboration for food pantries, individualized basic needs assistance programs, and workforce development and job training programs. We will continue the tradition and honor the legacy that the dedicated volunteers of the Dover Area Food Bank started many years ago in this close-knit community.”

Beginning January 5, the food bank will be open Monday through Thursday from 9:00am to 3:00pm. Those in need of receiving services for food or other basic needs may contact New Hope Ministries’ Dover Center at (717) 292-3441. In addition, an open house and dedication is scheduled for Tuesday, January 20, 2015 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Dover Center.
